When Steve Azar released his latest single ‘Moo La Moo’ to radio, Steve knew that if he had an opportunity to make a music video for the song, it could be an awful lot of fun.  He got his chance, and now you can see about what he had in mind.

Country Crossings is a new development in Dothan, Alabama, that will cater to the country music fan.  Included in phase one of this entertainment extravaganza are George Jones’ Possum Hollow Bed and Breakfast, which will open in December, along with many other restaurants and live entertainment venues.  We caught up with developer Ronnie Gilley to see what we can expect to see when the complex opens in December.  Construction has been going strong 24-7 for months now, and it looks like their original deadline for opening in December will still be met.  Look for more on the grand opening right here on Inside Music Row.

Justin Moore has a lot to celebrate these days with his hit ‘Small Town USA’ hitting the top spot on the charts.  This breakout star is the only new country artist to reach number one so far in 2009, and he’s the first solo country artist to have a song from a debut album to go number one since Taylor Swift in December 2007.  We had a chance to sit down with Justin to see what ‘Small Town USA’ has done for him.  It looks like Justin is off to a fantabulous start in his career.  Working with a label like the Valory Music Group definitely gives him a great shot at achieving stardom

Jason Aldean has had the throttle on his career Wide Open for the last three years.  That ‘Wide Open’ album included his number one hit ‘She’s Country,’ and now the next single ‘Big Green Tractor’ has spent quite a few weeks at the top spot, too.  As you can see…there’s a lot for him to celebrate right now. Not only did ‘Big Green Tractor’ hit number one on the charts, but the song also hit number one on the Billboard all-genre Ringscan chart.  It became the first country song to hold the top spot.

Lorrie Morgan has seen just about everything the music business has to offer.  Recording for over thirty years, her latest album is probably one of her best.  Lorrie is healthy, focused, and feeling good, and that came through while making ‘A Moment In Time.’  We headed down to Enterprise, Alabama, where Lorrie is set to open a new Hot Chickens restaurant in December and talked about her favorites…food and music. ‘A Moment In Time’ comes out this next week, and I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s some of her best material to date.

Artists that have been around the block a few times know that music is only part of a career in business. There are many opportunities to align themselves with projects they support.  When Ronnie Gilley approached artists such as George Jones, Lorrie Morgan, and Kix Brooks to come to Enterprise, Alabama, it was an easy sell with the construction of Country Crossings... a new country music extravaganza in the neighboring county, and BamaJam, a hot new music festival in Early June. We headed south to see what the buzz is all about.

Darius Rucker has come a long way since putting out his first country album.  That disc ‘Learn To Live’ has now been certified platinum, and the number one hits just seem to keep on coming. After three number one hits off his debut country disc, we’ll have to wait and see if he can make it four.

 ‘A Taste of the Truth’ is Gene Watson’s forty-sixth album in almost thirty-five years of recording.  For an artist best-known for ‘Farewell Party,’ Gene is certainly not planning on saying farewell to a recording career anytime soon.  We met up with Gene near his exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to see what fans can expect to hear on his new album.

During the 1980’s, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers had great success with hits like ‘Houston,’ ‘All The Gold In California,’ and ‘Broken Lady.’  After being away from Nashville for a few years, Larry decided it was time to get back and get another album cut.  Fueled by the success of ‘Johnny Cash is Dead and His House Burned Down,’ the brothers’ new album ‘Pilgrimage,’ is gaining new fans; and is the first new album from the three brothers in seventeen years.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is an international attraction, bringing in countless fans from all over the world to Nashville.  Each year, the Hall hosts a fundraising event, but Keith Urban and Vince Gill wanted to take it one step further.

Well over thirty years have gone by since the King of Rock and Roll passed away, but his legacy still lives on.  His cousin and noted author Edie Hand got together with Ronnie McDowell and Joe Meador to put together a collection of stories never before heard outside Elvis’ friends and family.  Fans came together for a book signing event at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum bookstore for a few songs and autographs.

Plenty of Grammy winners were gathered together last month to honor twenty-time Grammy winner Vince Gill.  The first ever Salute to Country Music included Allison Krauss, Brad Paisley, Michael McDonald, and many more. The 52nd annual Grammy Awards is set for January 31st, but all the nominations will be revealed December 2nd, live on CBS.  We’ll see if Vince makes the short list again

Criss-crossing genres and formats is nothing new for celebrities.  Tim McGraw is getting into acting, and Kevin Costner has a country band.  Now Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael are teaming up with the world-famous Bellamy Brothers, and they have a country hit on their hands. After 35 years of recording together, it’s great to see David and Howard still finding ways to keep their music fresh.

Country Crossings is soon to be one of the largest country music entertainment extravaganzas in the world.  Phase one is scheduled to be complete in December, but we got a sneek peak at the progress when we flew down to Dothan, Alabama, with George Jones, and Lorrie Morgan to check in with the developer.  Between Country Crossings, a country music-themed  residential commmunity, and Bamajam, Ronnie Gilley has his hands full. It looks like a great destination for the whole family.
