Now playingNew episodeOur special marine podcast this week takes the form of an urgent warning about the precarious state of the world's coral reefs. By compiling some of our most impressive marine footage and basing our story on current science, we hope to highlight the beauty of these biologically diverse ecosystems and the importance of preserving them for future generations. The release of this podcast has been carefully timed to coincide with the much-anticipated COP 15 UN summit on climate change taking place in Copenhagen. We're hoping that the politicians and legislators attending the summit will resolve to lower CO2 emissions sufficiently and so curb worldwide coral-reef degradation caused by temperature increases and ocean acidification. Our short film, which will be presented at the Copenhagen summit by the Zoological Society of London, is a small attempt to convince world leaders to flex their political muscles in order to stabilize our fragile climate.
